If you’re looking for a hosting provider that balances high-end performance with ethical values, Stablepoint is likely on your radar. Founded by the original team behind Tsohost and Vidahost, it was built to be the “antidote” to big-box corporate hosting.

However, as we enter 2026, the landscape has shifted. While I still recommend Stablepoint for its LiteSpeed-powered performance and carbon-negative infrastructure, my personal testing and recent customer feedback suggest that “transparent pricing” is no longer a guarantee. With reports of significant unannounced price hikes and hidden limits on “unlimited” reseller plans, it is more important than ever to read the fine print.

In this updated January 2026 review, I’ll strip back the marketing and look at how Stablepoint actually performs for real-world businesses today.

What We’ll Explore in This Review:

  • Performance Benchmarks: Why NVMe storage and LiteSpeed still make them one of the fastest UK options.

  • The “Unlimited” Reality Check: An honest look at hidden mailbox caps and disk space restrictions that affect resellers.

  • The Price Hikes of 2025/26: Why some users saw their invoices double without warning.

  • Infrastructure & Ethics: A deep dive into their 80+ global datacentres and carbon-negative commitment.

  • Support Response Times: Testing their UK-based team against recent complaints of slower resolution cycles.

  • The Final Verdict: Who should stick with Stablepoint and who should consider moving to 20i or Kinsta.

What Is Stablepoint and Who’s Behind It?

What Is Stablepoint and Who’s Behind It

Stablepoint was founded in 2018 by the original creators of Tsohost and Vidahost, two respected UK hosting companies later acquired by GoDaddy. Rather than stepping away after those exits, the founding team reunited to build a modern hosting provider focused on ethics, performance, and long-term sustainability.

Stablepoint is owned and operated by its founders, including Darren Lingham, Dominic Taylor, and Seb Lemos, who partnered with Sal Patel to create a scalable, personable cloud hosting company. The platform leverages public cloud technology, including NVMe storage, to deliver high performance without legacy infrastructure limitations.

Ownership & Structure Highlights

  • Founded and run by veterans of the UK hosting industry
  • Fully independent and privately owned, with no venture capital backing
  • 100% cloud-based infrastructure, eliminating physical server management
  • Carbon-negative hosting across 20+ global datacentre locations

This independent, expert-led approach is a key reason Stablepoint appeals to businesses seeking transparent, future-ready hosting.

Why Resellers Should Think Twice About Stablepoint’s “Unlimited” Hosting Plans?

Why Choose Stablepoint for Reselling Hosting

As a web hosting reseller, consistency, transparency, and dependable performance are essential. Based on recent customer feedback, Stablepoint has struggled to meet those expectations for some resellers, particularly on its so-called unlimited reseller plans.

Several users report that while performance may appear strong at the beginning, it quickly degrades over time. One reseller described how initial speed gave way to severe slowdowns, with support unable to provide a lasting fix:

“Servers are fast only at the beginning. I subscribed to the Unlimited Reseller service on October 20. Initially, the web hosting service was very fast, but now it’s terribly slow. I reported it to technical support, but they didn’t resolve my issue.”
Julio Beizaga (BO) – Rated 1 out of 5 stars

Transparency around limits has also been a major concern. Despite reseller pages advertising “No Limit” mailbox sizes and disk space, customers state that hidden caps exist within the terms of service. This creates serious problems for resellers trying to offer genuinely unlimited packages to their own clients:

“Mis-leading reseller account limits… it stipulates quite clearly that ‘Mailbox size limit’ is No Limit yet hidden in the terms of service it states 20GB limit per inbox… I have now been threatened with a suspension for the entire cPanel account.”
Customer D (GB) – Rated 1 out of 5 stars

The same reviewer also highlighted undisclosed account-level storage caps and warned that these contradictions make it impossible to sell hosting honestly under an “unlimited” label:

“This is quite clearly mis-leading resellers as you cannot offer unlimited hosting to customers when they do not provide a service listed as UNLIMITED.”

Support responsiveness has been another recurring issue. Even on premium reseller tiers, some customers report slow replies and unresolved technical problems, undermining confidence in long-term reliability:

“Premium Unlimited Reseller service is not as expected. The service pack seems to have gone awry recently, with support being slow or not getting the problem resolved.”
Hung Phan (VN) – Rated 1 out of 5 stars

Taken together, these reviews suggest that while Stablepoint may initially appeal with competitive pricing and “unlimited” branding, resellers should carefully evaluate performance consistency, clearly defined limits, and support reliability before building a business around the platform.

How Does Stablepoint Hosting Perform Across Essential Factors?

When evaluating a hosting provider, it’s crucial to look beyond just price tags, performance, reliability, support, and scalability all play a vital role. Here’s how Stablepoint measures up across the most important hosting benchmarks.

⭐ Hosting Plans & Pricing Overview – 3.9/5

Hosting Plans & Pricing Overview

While Stablepoint promotes its hosting as low-cost and feature-rich, recent customer feedback highlights concerns around pricing transparency and long-term value. The plans below reflect how Stablepoint’s shared hosting packages are advertised, but reviews suggest that headline pricing may not always reflect what customers ultimately pay over time.

Core Hosting Plans & Key Benefits:

PlanPriceWebsitesStorageEmailsRAMKey Benefits
Go£1.9911GB NVMe SSD31GBBest for personal sites or testing; ultra-affordable starter plan
Starter£2.991100GB NVMe SSDUnlimited1GBGreat balance of storage & price for small business sites
Medium£6.996200GB NVMe SSDUnlimited2GBIdeal for multiple sites or growing businesses
Advanced£9.9915Unlimited NVMe SSDUnlimited4GBBest choice for agencies or high-traffic websites

On paper, these plans appear competitively priced and generous for the specifications offered. However, real-world customer experience suggests that pricing stability and communication may not align with expectations set at signup.

A recent review describes a sudden and significant increase in hosting costs without prior notice, raising concerns about how reliable these advertised prices are in practice:

“Unannounced 100% price increase. Stablepoint doubled the hosting price without any prior notice and simply sent a new invoice. In 20+ years of working with hosting providers, I’ve never seen such a move. Bad pricing policy, poor communication, and zero respect for customers. I’m moving all my projects away from Stablepoint.”
Osman Ajkić (HR) – Rated 1 out of 5 stars, 09-01-2026

For businesses and developers evaluating Stablepoint, this feedback highlights the importance of looking beyond introductory rates. Predictable renewals, advance notice of pricing changes, and consistent billing practices are critical, especially for agencies managing multiple sites or client contracts.

⭐ Unlimited cPanel Reseller Hosting – 3.5/5

Unlimited cPanel Reseller Hosting

Stablepoint markets its Unlimited cPanel Reseller Hosting as a hands-off, scalable solution for agencies and hosting businesses. However, recent customer feedback paints a very different picture, raising concerns around service reliability, infrastructure management, and support responsiveness, especially following company acquisitions.

Plan Overview:

PlancPanel AccountsStorageBandwidthLVE RAMPrice (Monthly, 3-Year Term)
Go Reseller2020GB NVMe SSDUnlimited2GB£5.19
Unlimited Reseller25 (up to 300)Unlimited NVMe SSDUnlimited2GB£11.61
Premium Unlimited Reseller25 (up to 300)Unlimited NVMe SSDUnlimited4GB£27.99

While these plans promise high account limits, NVMe storage, and full white-label control, several users report that real-world service delivery can be inconsistent, especially following provider acquisitions.

A long-standing US customer highlighted recurring outages, slow support, and unresolved core infrastructure issues after Stablepoint took over their previous host:

“Since Stablepoint has taken over, outages have become more frequent. Servers are not updated. Support is slow to respond and fix actual issues… Every single time, it’s a mess.”
BD (US) – Rated 1 out of 5 stars

The same reviewer described a critical failure affecting reseller operations, where access to WHM and cPanel was blocked due to a licensing issue that remained unresolved for hours:

“Stablepoint did not renew the cPanel license which caused the issue. We are now at almost 9 HOURS since the issue was reported to them, and it is still NOT RESOLVED. It’s not complicated to renew a cPanel license.”

Ideal For:

Based on advertised features versus reported customer experiences, Stablepoint’s reseller hosting may be:

  • Suitable for test environments, low-risk projects, or non-critical reseller setups where occasional delays are manageable

  • Potentially workable for price-driven resellers who prioritise low entry costs over guaranteed response times

  • Less suitable for agencies, MSPs, or professional resellers managing mission-critical client sites that require rapid support, strict uptime guarantees, and dependable licence management

For businesses evaluating Stablepoint, these reviews highlight the importance of weighing scalability claims against real-world reliability and support performance before committing large client portfolios to the platform.

What Are the Common Issues or Limitations of Stablepoint?

What Are the Common Issues or Limitations of Stablepoint

Stablepoint is generally well-regarded, but like any hosting provider, it comes with a few limitations that users should be aware of. Based on independent reviews and customer feedback, most concerns are situational rather than widespread.

Some users report inconsistent support experiences. While many praise fast, knowledgeable responses, a small number have experienced slower handling of complex or time-sensitive issues, suggesting results can vary by case. There are also clear usage restrictions in place to protect overall platform performance. Services such as video-streaming sites, file-sharing platforms, backup repositories, and cryptocurrency mining are not permitted.

A few reviews mention isolated domain renewal issues, where renewals were delayed or unclear, though these appear uncommon. As with most shared or reseller hosting, lower-tier plans may have resource constraints, and advanced server access is intentionally limited for security reasons. Overall, these limitations are typical for performance-focused, managed hosting environments.

What Are Users Saying About Stablepoint Hosting Services?

What Are Users Saying About Stablepoint Hosting Services

While Stablepoint is sometimes described as a capable hosting provider, a growing body of customer feedback suggests that the issues go beyond minor or situational limitations. Many of the concerns raised point to pricing transparency, account restrictions, forced migrations, and breakdowns in communication, all of which can have serious consequences for businesses.

One of the most serious criticisms relates to pricing policy. Customers report sudden and significant price increases with no advance notice, undermining trust and long-term planning:

“Unannounced 100% price increase. Stablepoint doubled the hosting price without any prior notice and simply sent a new invoice… Bad pricing policy, poor communication, and zero respect for customers.”
Osman Ajkić (HR) – Rated 1 out of 5 stars

Account limitations have also been highlighted as a major problem, particularly for growing reseller accounts. Some users state that functionality advertised at signup was later restricted, directly affecting their ability to manage clients:

“I definitely do not recommend limiting your account when you start to grow.

“I have 13 users, and I refuse to stay with you because of the restrictions on my account! I have canceled the service in my account several times, but you keep restoring it. You have taken away my ability to create packages through WHM or upgrade my customers’ packages. You are not providing the functionality you promised and for which I paid. I have attached a screenshot in support ticket SP-HIE-717-81902. I now firmly request that you cancel the service and refund my money! I submitted my refund request last month, but it was dismissed. I will share this with my community and write a review on Trustpilot.”
Orgován György (HU) – Rated 1 out of 5 stars

Forced server migrations appear to be another recurring pain point. Multiple US-based customers describe migrations being poorly planned, delayed into business hours, and leaving essential services like email broken for weeks:

“We were forced to migrate servers, and while it was supposed to be done on a friday, they waited until monday morning. (at which point they told us it was complete) It is thursday and our company emails still dont work. Horrible company, does not care about clients at all. Asked us not to call anymore until “migration is complete” who knows when that will be. They did no homework on what it would take to succeed in migrating our account and want to blame us and microsoft for the issues. Unreal

It is now tuesday, two weeks later and we still are not through this. No emails now becuase our domain limit size had been reached. Someone should have reviewed how these changes would affect us before migrating our account. Im in shock at the lack of professionalism and communication.”
Andrew Taylor (US) – Rated 1 out of 5 stars

Similar concerns were echoed by other customers who experienced unplanned migrations that disrupted operations and caused revenue loss:

“Stablepoint took over our account some time ago. We were actually hosted by a 3rd party but Stablepoint was who we paid. They have now forced us into a migration that I was told was necessary but not a big deal. So the results were that the migration was not completed when expected, spilled into business hours and created many problems and loss of revenue for our company. The support team did little to help. Overall, just a very bad experience. There was nowhere to reply. Where did you reach out to me? I still have not been contacted by phone or email and issues continue with no responses on the latest response on an open ticket.”
Jon (US) – Rated 1 out of 5 stars

One long-form review further illustrates systemic issues around support coordination, migration handling, and broken promises. While the reviewer later acknowledged improvement after escalation to a senior point of contact, the overall experience remained damaging:

“I once used Innhosting, a company that was bought and sold and then bought again a few years ago by Stablepoint.

I returned and signed up for a new account. what could go wrong?

One word: everything.
A phrase: Stablepoint: The reason I signed up to trustpilot to leave a review after 10 years reading them.

TLDR; stay away.

Experience: I signed up for a reseller account. I then asked them how long it would take to complete a migration and their support told me “this is usually done within 2-6 hours”. I planned accordingly and one week before my hosting was due cancellation I opened a ticket.

Sadly, once the migration ticket was opened, all that could go wrong, went wrong:

a) I asked them to perform a preliminary migration of a 5gb multisite (as explained in the ticket) to ensure all was taken care of according to my standards. Then to confirm back so that I could upgrade my package to the higher tier – as I needed that extra space but would only pay if it was worth it- and complete the remaining part. As this was promised as a 6h service, 7 days would be fine right? Well it didnt.

b) It started with quick replies, like 1h replies, and then it slowed down to around once every 2 days. Even thou I kept telling them I had a deadline for the 15th at noon, one person kept the ticket assigned to himself for over 48h and made it lose precious time.

c) contacted support over chat and it was useless. As I completed part of the migration on my own, I asked them to upgrade my package directly – to win time- as I was running out of space for the 2 large sites that I needed to migrate accounting for 17gb. I also asked them to add them all within a cpanel account because there were too many domains and we would be wasting cpanel licenses and it would be a mess. and asked in the original ticket to complete the migration in full instead of partial one as we were already 1 day before the clousure of the server. That didnt happen

d) Support said they couldnt upgrade or bill me for the higher package – which meant the support team would encounter not enough space to migrate and they needed to do the migration first before they could bill me or upgrade me.

e) Support calls are routed to Philippines. I dont care who picks the phone, but if they miss key english understanding, you got a problem. In my case, they promised to call me back within 2 hours, gave them 2 phones none of them rang. Broken promises….

f) I chased chat agents asking them to escalate things. never happened. I asked phone agents for supervisors. They said those were not available.

g) Migration team didn’t read. they migrated 300mbs out of 17gbs, then one site of the entire multisite (400mbs instead of 5gbs), then didnt acknowledge the fact that the server was closing, or the fact that I gave exact instructions, empathy is not in their book.

Long story short. I’m extending my server with the old host as thankfully they have a grace period. my experience with Stablepoint has been the worst in the past 10-15 years. Bad enough to register here and leave a comment and bad enough to tell you to trust these 1 score reviews.

Their price is not worth it, and their promises are worthless if they cannot keep them.

Do yourself a favor, save yourself from a sour experience and go directly to another provider. What does stablepoint has in their favor? Lets see:

Price? not worth it if you have to stop your business and chase them.
Support? Not really if they break promises or lie to you.
Technical help? You might as well learn to DIY and will probably succeed before they get back to you.
Backups? – yeah, those are listed in the website and are functional.

Will I use them in the future? Probably only for the remainder of the week until I can migrate elsewhere. But Trust me, I’m taking advantage of the 30 day refund guarantee and I recommend you do to, if you don’t read this review in time.

Update 1 out of 2:
10/14/2025

I want to provide an update on this issue after Mimi reached out.

They assigned me a POC – Tenured agent. This was great. She was able to fix the ongoing issue up to what we{ve been able to validate. I’m pending to provide a new update once all things are validated from my end.

While agents at level 1 struggled with technical issues linked to cloudflare, SSLs, wildomain certs and subdomains, my POC was able to jump in and fix 2 very complex things in a matter of few interactions.

Bumping to 3 stars due they fixing my immediate problem. Will update in about a month once I’ve completed the tests I need and wrap it up.”
Steve (US) – Initially 1 star, later updated to 3 stars after escalation

Taken together, these reviews suggest that the challenges some users face are not isolated edge cases, but recurring themes involving billing practices, operational control, migration execution, and frontline support effectiveness. For individuals or businesses where uptime, predictable pricing, and responsive support are critical, these experiences highlight the importance of carefully assessing risk before committing to Stablepoint, particularly for reseller or business-critical environments.

What Do I Think of Stablepoint? (My Personal Experience & Verdict)

After reviewing extensive independent feedback and real customer experiences, it’s clear that Stablepoint delivers a mixed experience that varies significantly depending on use case, timing, and support escalation. While some users report acceptable performance initially, a substantial number of reviews highlight serious operational, pricing, and support issues that directly affect business continuity.

Rather than being isolated edge cases, recurring themes emerge around unexpected price increases, restrictive account controls, poorly handled migrations, licensing oversights, and slow resolution of critical issues. These factors materially change how Stablepoint should be evaluated, especially for resellers, agencies, and businesses running mission-critical workloads.

Summary Of My Stablepoint Experience (Based on Aggregated Reviews)

✅ What We Like

  • ✔ Fast performance at the beginning on many plans, especially when newly provisioned
  • ✔ NVMe SSD storage and LiteSpeed are technically capable when infrastructure is stable
  • ✔ Large feature set on paper, including reseller tooling, WHM, and global locations
  • ✔ Backups and security tools are available and generally functional
  • ✔ Occasional positive outcomes after escalation to senior or tenured support staff

❌ What Could Be Better

  • ✖ Unannounced and extreme price increases, including reported 100% hikes with no prior notice
  • ✖ Advertised “unlimited” plans found to have hidden limits (mailboxes, storage, cPanel caps)
  • ✖ Account restrictions imposed as users grow, including loss of WHM package controls
  • ✖ Forced server and email migrations that were poorly planned, delayed, and disruptive
  • ✖ Business-critical services such as email reported broken for weeks after migrations
  • ✖ Expired or missing cPanel licences, blocking WHM and cPanel access entirely
  • ✖ Support response times stretching into hours or days for urgent issues
  • ✖ Frontline support frequently unable to resolve complex problems without escalation
  • ✖ Conflicting information from staff and lack of ownership during outages
  • ✖ Refund requests reported as dismissed or delayed, even after service cancellation
  • ✖ Communication gaps during incidents, with customers asked not to call or follow up
  • ✖ Heavy reliance on scripted Tier-1 support before reaching competent engineers
FeatureThe PromiseThe 2026 Reality
PricingLow-cost, transparentReports of 100% unannounced increases
StorageUnlimited / NVMeHidden caps in TOS (e.g., 20GB inbox limits)
SupportExpert UK-basedSlower response; tier-1/tier-2 disconnects
UptimeEnterprise CloudMigration-related outages reported recently

Stablepoint is still good for

  • UK-based Charities: Their free “Go” plan remains one of the best philanthropic offers in the industry.

  • Low-traffic WordPress sites: If you don’t need “unlimited” space, the LiteSpeed servers provide excellent TTFB (Time to First Byte).

Avoid Stablepoint if

  • You are a high-volume Reseller: The risk of hidden caps and WHM restriction is currently too high.

  • You require fixed-cost budgeting: The reports of 100% price hikes make them risky for small businesses with tight margins.

Overall Assessment

Stablepoint’s marketing presents a polished picture of ethical hosting, strong performance, and dependable support. However, customer reviews reveal a disconnect between promise and execution, particularly as accounts scale or infrastructure changes occur.

For casual or short-term use, it may function adequately. For professional hosting businesses, agencies, or long-established operations, the documented risks around pricing, control, and support responsiveness suggest that due diligence and caution are essential before committing long-term.

When choosing a web hosting provider, the real differences often come down to support quality, infrastructure choices, and long-term flexibility rather than headline pricing alone.

Stablepoint positions itself as a middle ground between large global hosts and smaller niche providers, combining modern cloud technology with a strong UK-first, customer-focused approach.

To understand where Stablepoint truly stands, it’s helpful to compare it directly with other popular hosting providers that UK users frequently consider.

Overall, Stablepoint distinguishes itself by prioritising independence, transparency, and genuine human support while still delivering scalable, cloud-powered hosting.

Compared to competitors, it appeals most to UK businesses, resellers, agencies, and professionals who want reliable performance without sacrificing personal service.

Conclusion

Stablepoint positions itself as a premium, ethical UK hosting provider, but real-world customer feedback suggests the experience is far more inconsistent than the marketing implies. While the platform offers modern infrastructure on paper, including cloud hosting and reseller tooling, multiple reviews raise concerns around pricing transparency, operational reliability, account restrictions, and support execution once issues arise.

For users who value predictability, clear limits, and dependable communication, these shortcomings can outweigh the technical features on offer. Sudden price increases, forced migrations, restricted reseller controls, and delayed resolutions of critical problems undermine confidence, particularly for businesses running client-facing or revenue-critical services.

Stablepoint may still suit short-term, low-risk projects or technically confident users who can tolerate disruption. However, for agencies, resellers, and growing businesses that require stability, trust, and responsive support without escalation, the feedback strongly suggests that careful consideration and contingency planning are essential before committing long-term to Stablepoint.
